 Swampfox Optics Blade Prism Sight

    Swampfox made their entry into the prism scope category with a 1x they named “blade.” The blade features an etched reticle available in red, green or amber/gold illumination, shake awake and capped turrets. It has 10 brightness settings including 2 night vision compatible. Powering this optic is a CR123a. It’s rated for 800Gs and is 1 meter/IPX7 waterproof rated. It weighs in at 13oz. It’s a little tank on top of your weapon.

    Swampfox doesn’t build an optic without giving it their own unique touch. You’re probably familiar with the popular BDC (bullet drop compensated) reticle. They are good for long distance shots and help take the guess work out of point of aim. Well Swampfox took a different approach. They designed a BRC (bullet rise compensated) reticle. They did this for home defense and law enforcement duty rifle application where a close up shot is most likely what you’d encounter. The reticle has a 50/200 yard battle zero and then you have a 5 yard, 10 yard and 15 yard hold over. Takes the guess work out of how much to float your dot.

    To make this happen, that had to use the height over bore from a rifle. Obviously they chose the AR-15. That being said, because the BRC was designed off of the AR-15, it may not be accurate with a different style of rifle. Because bullet trajectory isn’t affected at 15 yards and in, caliber does not matter.

   The last feature I want to go in depth on is the amber/gold reticle. Swampfox had several requests to try the amber/gold reticle to see if it would benefit the colorblind who have a hard time seeing red and green. Only a small batch was made but if things go well, expect to see this color make itself into other products. This is just another example of a gap in the optic industry that Swampfox saw a need to fill.
